TRAVEL, TOURISM &
HOSPITALITY
The Travel, Tourism and Hospitality industry is one of the largest sectors in
the global economy. Both the public and private sectors in most countries are
involved in providing a variety of services in theme parks, hotels, historical
buildings and museums, restaurants, ports, airports, and agencies.
Attracting visitors is a high priority on economic agendas worldwide. What all
aspects of the industry have in common, no matter where they are based, is the
need to provide quality service to ever more discerning customers.
Whereas ABE's Travel, Tourism and Hospitality course is for students wishing to
pursue a management career in this industry. The course aims to provide a solid
business and management understanding.

Entry Requirements for ABE Certificate and
Diploma
-
Four GCSE/GCE ‘O’ levels/SCE, one of which
should be in English and one in a Maths subject at grade A, B or C (for
overseas students grades 1 to 6 Credits/Distinctions are considered equivalent)
OR intermediate HSC pass with good grades OR applicants of 21 years of age or
more may be admitted at the discretion of the college, foregoing minimum entry
requirements, provided that they satisfy the college that they are sufficiently
well motivated.

British Council IELTS test score of 6.0 or above
is preferable. Similar proficiency tests will be considered.

Career prospects
ABE Diploma students normally continue to complete the ABE Advanced Diploma.
However, positions in Human Resources, Middle Management and Administration may
be available. Advanced Diploma students will be well placed to enter a variety
of careers in the Travel and Tourism industry, such as Marketing, Management,
Administration and Human Resources.
Degree holders will be able to launch their career in hospitality management -
working in any of the varied fields of the industry. The course will also
enable you to pursue further studies by way of Masters and Research programmes
in Business related disciplines.
